VIETNAM HISTORY

(Note: Collins claims to have served in Vietnam in 1975, which is impossible as all American military forces had been withdrawn on March 29, 1973.

Jan 27, 1973, Peace Treaty signed. All US Troops to be out in 60 days.

Mar 29, 1973 The last remaining American troops withdraw from Vietnam (Note: After this date, the only military in Vietnam was US Embassy Marine Staff)

Apr 30, 1975 at 8:35am, the last Americans, ten Marines from the embassy, depart Saigon......

No American troops were in Vietnam from Mar 29, 73 to Apr 30, 75 other than the security/embassy staff.
=============================================================
PRISONER OF WAR STATUS:

Any American soldier in the time of war who comes under the control of the enemy, regardless of the length of time is classified as a Prisoner of War. There is no time requirement, 5 minutes, 1 day, or less than 6 months. Anyone making this claim is lying. All individuals that came under enemy control in Vietnam are known and there is a 100% complete list of these and Collins is not listed.

===============================================================

CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR:

By an act of congress, all Medal of Honor recipients are recorded and their status are maintained by the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation. Collins is not listed as being a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. Collins claims he is not recorded because of his Top Secret status. This is another false claim, "all" Congressional Medal of Honor recipients are approved by the US Congress and presented by the President of the United States in public records. His name does not appear in any records or the complete list of all Medal of Honor recipients in America's history. Visit the Medal of Honor Society for details. His claim that his unit/assignment is still Top Secret is totally absurd and laughable. See SOG,The Army acknowledged the accomplishments of the most secret commando unit of the Vietnam War on Wednesday. April 15, 2001.

Criteria: The Medal of Honor is awarded by the President, in the name of Congress, to a person who, while a member of the Army, distinguishes himself or herself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in action against an enemy of the United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party. The deed performed must have been one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his or her comrades and must have involved risk of life. Incontestable proof of the performance of the service will be exacted and each recommendation for the award of this decoration will be considered on the standard of extraordinary merit.

Since the reviews and changes of 1917 the laws governing award of the Medal of Honor have ended all DOUBLE awards of the Medal of Honor.  All other awards in the Pyramid of Honor can be awarded multiple times for different acts, each successive award noted by a DEVICE worn on the ribbon for the first award.  A soldier may be nominated repeatedly for the Medal of Honor, indeed during the Vietnam War Special Forces hero Robert L. Howard was submitted for the Medal of Honor three different times before he was finally awarded the Medal.  But the Medal of Honor may now be awarded ONLY ONCE. 6 MONTHS AS A POW (CLAIMS SINCE HE WAS A POW FOR LESS THAN 6 MONTHS,

Just that false claim is enough to shoot this guy's story full of holes. The POW Association has never heard of him and they have comprehensive records of EVERYBODY who was taken prisoner, even for 24 hours.

I'm sorry. This is a perfect example of a wannabe who should be prosecuted for his false claims. He is a disgrace to every combat veteran, both those living and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Although I was never a SOG member, I was a flying aerial bodyguard for the SOG inserts and extracts (Scarface Gunships - HML-367 USMC). I witnessed some amazing things by the teams, but would never trade my job in the air with their job on the ground. Funny thing is they said the same thing to me. But we were all part of a team, we all had a job to do.

But, as sick as it is, I meet people all the time who claim to have been in a combat unit, and I can see thru their facade. I've never had to fight any of them, just usually blow their cover and ask them to leave. And so far, they've always complied leaving with their tail between their legs.

But this Collins guy is way overboard. By his picture he fits the MOS of cook more than anything else. You can see that he has NO self-discipline to manage his body. I know a lot of former pilots, SOG members, Seals, Force Recon and the discipline they learned back then pretty much stays with them. Their pride doesn't allow them to let their bodies go to hell. Then, most of the Vet's I know don't brag about their past. In fact, most of the ones I know prefer to have it dragged out of them, me included. But, when two true vets meet, something clicks, and they talk and talk freely of the old times.

I believe you are doing a great service to our country by exposing these wannabe's. But not only the SOG but all the services and award receipiants combined. Semper Fi.

We need to get any evidence that this puke has been seen WEARING one of his fake MOH's in public, some photo's would be nice.  Then he gets turned over the FBI for some serious prosecution.

This is incredible--both those guys hanging onto their stories. Have you informed the local media?  This is almost a national-level story. Let me know if I can help.
